As required by federal regulations, each state must perform a periodic review of child support guidelines, based in part on analysis of the actual application of these guidelines in a sample of cases. In this report we present such an analysis, examining the extent to which the amount of child support orders in Wisconsin conform to Wisconsin’s child support guidelines, and identifying case characteristics associated with deviations from the guidelines.
