Each June, IRP hosts its signature week-long Summer Research Workshop (SRW) on the UW–Madison campus. The SRW brings together junior and senior poverty scholars to present work in progress and research papers related to low-income populations. It is designed to build a community of researchers at all career stages who are focused on low-income populations, their social and economic opportunities and outcomes, and social policy. As a working meeting, SRW is an invitation-only event.
In addition, IRP co-hosts additional research workshops each year, typically in the fall and spring with our CPC partner institutions. These workshops bring together poverty scholars, policymakers and practitioners to present their research on a more focused set of poverty policy research topics aimed at informing the CPC poverty research agenda.
