For low-income households, especially those with children, maintaining access to nutritious, affordable, and appropriate food can be an ongoing challenge. In this webinar, our panelists will provide an overview of the USDA’s role in food and nutrition assistance, with a focus on SNAP and WIC, as well as trends in program participation and spending. Research on the role of nongovernmental, nonprofit food systems in supporting food security in a time of growing demand will also be shared, and we will be introduced to a new measure to assess the likelihood of individuals to experience food insecurity.
